All Things Montgomery: April 2026
The MD General Assembly session is over (with a couple major housing wins notched!), but our local work continues!
Last month, CSG and Montgomery for All reached out to all candidates for County Council and County Executive to ask how they will approach housing affordability, zoning, public transit, and community input if elected. Click here to read responses from more than 25 candidates!
We also co-hosted a transportation forum for Democratic candidates for county executive on April 14th with ACT, WABA, and MCCPTA—watch the forum recording here, and keep an eye out for the date for a Republican candidate forum.
And we’re joining our fellow Montgomery Housing Alliance members to call for more affordable housing funding, and continuing to advocate for housing at the Chevy Chase Library.

⭐ NEW: Read Responses to Our Candidate Questionnaire!
We’ve just published the responses to Montgomery for All and CSG’s 2026 candidate questionnaire—asking candidates for County Executive and County Council for their views on zoning, housing affordability, sustainable transportation, and stakeholder input.
The primary election will take place on June 23, 2026. The general election will take place on November 3, 2026.

📣 Take Action for Affordable Housing
As the Council continues its budget deliberations, there is still a great need for additional affordable housing funding to ensure projects already in the pipeline can move forward.
We are also still monitoring the Chevy Chase Library budget item, and asking the Council to seek additional information about plans for this site and ensure that co-locating housing with a new library remains an option.

We are celebrating two great MoCo honorees at this year’s Livable Communities Awards on May 13th!
Montgomery Housing Alliance (MHA) will receive our Community Hero award alongside the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance (NVAHA), while this year’s Livable Communities Award will go to Fivesquares, the team behind the Metro-adjacent, built-on-a-former-parking lot Strathmore Square development.
