All Things Montgomery: November 2025

Dear {{FirstName or "Friend"}},

What are you grateful for this month? 🦃 I am grateful for all of you and the movement we are building together for a more sustainable and inclusive Montgomery County! 🏘️🚌

I have felt especially grateful for the effort and care you bring to our advocacy as I have read supporters’ messages to the Council about the University Boulevard Corridor Plan. We have had 90+ people (and counting!) share powerful stories, from young people struggling to afford housing to parents demanding safer streets for their children, to cyclists on unsafe roads, and so much more.

Your stories, your passion, and your courage in speaking up make a difference. Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

Carrie Kisicki

⭐️ Featured: Take action on University Boulevard

Don’t miss your chance to call for safe streets, better public transit, and more inclusive housing options in the University Boulevard Corridor Plan! Click here to contact the County Council.

Master plans are about a positive vision for a community, and guiding how it may evolve and change in the future. However, some councilmembers are pushing back against meaningful opportunities to change residential zoning and how much of our streets are allocated to cars versus people.

The Council is likely to vote on the plan in early December, and measures like zoning changes to allow missing middle housing; provide dedicated transit lanes throughout the University Boulevard Corridor; and build wider, more comfortable, sidewalks with safety buffers are currently at real risk of being cut.

Please weigh in and encourage those you know in the plan area to call on the Council to support the University Boulevard Corridor Plan, and resist attempts to remove its most meaningful recommendations.

Learn more at CSG’s resource page, and click here to contact the County Council now.

⭐️ Featured: Identify safety improvements for your child’s walk to school

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is conducting safety assessment studies at fifteen public schools throughout Montgomery County and is requesting parents and guardians whose kids attend these schools to participate. This survey will help MCDOT understand the safety needs and concerns of parents and students as they walk/roll, bike, or scooter to school.

They are looking for feedback on things like existing safety hazards; where new sidewalks or crosswalks are needed; and opportunities to improve accessibility for all.

Surveys are currently open for the following schools. Click here to learn more and find the survey links for each school.
