Take Action: Prioritize affordable housing on public land!

Public land is one of the best opportunities to provide affordable, and especially deeply affordable, housing. Right now, however, we are missing out on critical opportunities to build more homes on public land due to failure to consider this option early in the planning process for new public facilities like libraries and fire stations.

Bill 33-22, introduced by Councilmember Andrew Friedson, would correct this by requiring affordable housing feasibility studies much earlier in the development process, and providing the Council and public meaningful opportunities to weigh in.
